| About Family Mediation
Family Mediation at Vital Optons is a non-adversarial approach
to problem resolution and conflicts that directly affect the
family. Vital Options offers both marital, family, and divorce
mediation.
The Family Mediator at Vital Options is impartial and confidential.
The aim is to assist families to make informed decision and
devlop acceptable agreements.
Mediation at Vital Options will assist to promote communication
and cooperation. Mediation at Vital Options is confidential,
benefits children, reduces conflicts, and allows you to control
decisions that affect your life.
Pre-Nuptial & PreMarital
A prenuptial agreement or antenuptial agreement, commonly abbreviated
to prenup, is a contract entered into by two people prior to
marriage or civil union. The content of a prenuptial agreement
can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for the division
of property should the couple divorce and any rights to spousal
support during or after the dissolution of marriage.
There are two types of prenups: marriage contract for people
who are married or about to be married, and cohabitation agreements
for unmarried couples.
Premarital Therapy

Premarital Therapy at Vital Options focuses on helping
the two individuals in a couple lay lay a solid foundation
for
a long-term commitment. We offer a series of 5 - 7 sessions.
- A review and discussion of individual traits. Each individual's
personality traits, attitudes, beliefs, and emotional health
are explored, as well as their values
- A review and discussion of a couple’s communication
style, conflict resolution skills, degree of acquaintance,
and similarity between values and goals.
- A review and discussion of each person’s family background,
the quality of each individual’s parents’ marriage,
the quality of the family relationship, the attitude of family
and friends regarding the relationship, previous marriages
or long-term relationships, and children if involved.
Premarital Assessment Questionnaires (PAQ) will be
initially used to start the basis for therapy.
- Facilitating Open Couple Communication (FOCC-US) is a premarital
questionnaire that helps in locating limited couple communication,
celebration of pending or current emotional health, review
of family backgrounds, and identification of problems.
- Premarital Preparation and Relationship Enhancement (PPRE)
This questionnaire can be used to develop and increase insight
into the relationship, encourage awareness of the couples
strengths and weaknesses, and help them understand their readiness
for marriage as well as goals that should be met before marriage.
